Video Circulated on Social Media Has Community Outraged!
Chicago Police are still investigating a Facebook video that allegedly shows a toddler being coaxed into smoking marijuana.
“Let me hit that, OK?” the man is overheard telling the diaper-clad youngster who holds what appears to be holding a joint — and takes a puff.
“Aint nuttin wrong wit smoking daWeed. I be smoking it since I was in diapers,”
Detectives from the Special Victims Unit at Area South Headquarters were alerted after a community member showed the video to local Chicago activist Andrew Holmes last week. The whistleblower wished to remain anonymous.
By the time Holmes saw the video and got involved, the video had received roughly 500 Likes and 1,200 comments.
“I said ‘these people have lost their damned minds,’” Holmes told NBC 5 Chicago News.
If found, and the video is determined to be legitimate, the adult coaching the child to smoke (and potentially the youngster’s parents), could face child endangerment charges.
Police told FOX 32 News that they have leads on the adult’s identity, and have alerted the Department of Children and Family Services.
The video has spread to YouTube, with comments mostly expressing outrage.
“Aint nuttin wrong wit smoking daWeed. I be smoking it since I was in diapers,” commented one YouTube user, however.
